Terrific Tawhai Talents
October 16, 2009Tawhai School students have a very wide variety of talents. We have ballerinas, karate students, rugby players, gymnasts, pianists and much more. I interviewed Mitchell and he said that he started playing the piano in 2007 and Nisal has also played for nearly 2 years! Mitchell has participated in several exams. “Sometimes in exams you do Theory. Theory is knowing the words to all the pieces you play. ”
Mitchell goes on to say “Or you do Practical which is knowing the pieces and the scales.” Nisal and Mitchell both enjoy playing the piano and are very good at it.
Tawhai School also has some very talented karate students. Erana is a blue belt and has done karate for 2 years. “I chose karate for self-defence” says Erana.
“I do it in Upper hutt with my brother and sister. I’ve done a few competitions where we had to do the basic things of karate.” Erana likes karate and her favourite bit is the kata.
Jack has had the lucky privilege of playing in the Upper Hutt under 11 reps team for rugby.”I had to train really hard to make it.” he said. Jack is very sporty and he also plays touch rugby and basketball.
