At the Tawhai school assembly on Friday 15th April, two students were awarded for their contribution to the community.
Present at the Assembly were Ross McKinnon, the Coordinator of the programme, Kelsey Scarr- the administrator, Senior Sergeant Darren Russell , and community constable Keith Wright.
The 2 students who received the awards were Ava S and Brad C. Ava showed support for fellow students with a great deal of tenderness, understanding and a very mature behaviour for one so young. When his mother had a major seizure at home earlier this year, Brad showed the presence of mind to take his little sister to another room then check his mother’s safety before calling for an adult neighbour to assist. Both were awarded certificates, baskets of goodies and vouchers, sponsored by Stokes Valley New World, Events Cinemas and Westfield Queensgate.
