Pink Shirt Day

May 20 2022

Kia ora e te whānau
What an awesome way to end our third week of Term 2 despite the weather! The tamariki turned out their wardrobes and managed to find something pink to wear to celebrate Pink Shirt Day! Some even tried the rainbow effect which was fantastic too as you can be kind in any colour you like all year round!
A BIG paki paki to Deb Barnden, Sarah Tucker, Jules Whitworth and our wonderful values Tū Rangatira; Ellie, Marlie, Isla, Charli and Esther for organising the day!
Here are more than a few photos taken during the day! The Tū Rangatira were on hand at morning tea to hand out stickers to those who were showing acts of kindness. Room 2 hid lots of hearts with kind words written on them for tamariki to hunt at lunchtime. If anyone found more than one, they had to find someone else to give the second one to!
Every class had spent the week designing very colourful, imaginative, and eye-catching posters and one from each room was chosen/voted to be on display around the school.
As our Principal, Mrs Poole, looking stunning with her new hairstyle went around the classrooms to hand out the weekly certificates, the Tū Rangatira also came round too to choose the best dressed tamariki of each class. 4 final winners were decided: 2 from Nga Manu and 2 from Nga Kukari!
As for one of our Tawhai Whanau who couldn’t be at school, they still managed to celebrate the day at home, creating their wonderful T Shirts!
