SplashSave’s Community Day!

May 5 2022

SplashSave is a new way to combat the drowning rates in New Zealand and around the world. Through our innovative program you and others will learn some key water safety knowledge along with how to begin teaching your own whanau the basics of swimming and water safety.

Through Tu Manawa, Hutt City Council and Niku Ora we have been granted some funding to run a community day free in Stokes Valley. This will be done in conjunction with Swim City and Hutt City Council . The date for this free community day is: Sunday 15th May 2022

The day will begin at 8.30 at the Hub in Stokes Valley and will finish at around 3.30pm. In the morning we are looking for parents/teachers/community leaders that would like to have a better water safety education and have the ability to pass on knowledge and skills to others.

The day is split into two sections and in the afternoon we will be at Stokes Valley Pool and are looking for children and parents that you can share your knowledge with.
The morning will be basic theory and practical in the pool in the afternoon. We invite you bring your tamariki and whanau and begin to teach your own whanau the basics of swimming and water safety and test out the new skills you have learned throughout the morning.
The knowledge gained through this program will allow you to teach your community about the basics of swimming and water safety and help us reduce the horrific drowning rate in New Zealand. Together we can turn the tide on drowning.

Please respond to to register your interest for the day that suits you best or fill in the link attached.
