What a splendid day we had for our annual Tawhai School Cross Country event on Friday! A massive thank you has to go to Janette Page for organising it, to Lloyd for setting up the course, and to the teachers in both the Nga Kukari and Nga Manu events who either marshalled, warmed up the students, were the race starters, recorders or supervised the Students who were watching the races. It was lovely to see so many parents/whanau present to support their children.
The Nga Kukari races took part in the first block. We had some amazing senior students who either raced with the juniors as the course rabbits, and gave them lots of encouragement, or those that manned some of the checkpoints.
The Nga Manu students ran their races during the middle block. It was very heartwarming to see how many students, who originally planned to run the shortened (social) race, then deciding during their race to run the full competitive course!
Lastly, many thanks to Johanna Moss aided by Joleen Bridgen and Maja from Room 15 who ran the coffee stall! It was very much appreciated!
As I have taken so many photos I have divided up them up into 6 albums for the 6 year levels, starting with the Year 1 students!
