Kia ora e te whānau,
Yesterday evening our kaiako celebrated with our departing Year 6 ākonga, at the leavers’ dinner and gave out trophies and Values awards as well as graduation certificates. Today it was the turn of our Year 4 & 5 tamariki to be acknowledged in a special assembly. Our co-presenters today were Darci & Ethan who did a wonderful job of coordinating the assembly.
Tumuaki Mrs Poole warmly addressed those assembled which included tawhai whanau who had come to see their tamariki receive awards! She invited our 3 kaiako, Miss Ryan, Mrs Rempala, and Miss Duffy (maternity leave!) who are leaving Tawhai Kura, to sit on the stage. She also acknowledged our graduating Year 6 ākonga who were taking part in their last ever assembly at Tawhai Kura!
Well done to all the ākonga who received awards this morning!
The assembly concluded with the Year 6 students performing their leaver’s dance. Unfortunately, several times they had to continue performing when the music cut out several times but showed amazing resilience!
