Best Way of Communication, Mathletics and StuddyLadder Logins

Posted on by Rosa Stewart

Hello whānau,

I hope that you have had a moment to calm after the news and that you are all ok. This is a follow-up from my email to you all this morning.

Over the next few days we will be looking at the best way to communicate with everyone after the school holidays. Please indicate in the comment box below which of the following options work best for you. We will be providing feedback after the school holidays (by your chosen method of communication) specifically about learning.

  • Email
  • Phone contact
  • Zoom – you can set up a free account and provide me with your zoom ID
  • FaceTime – I will need your number/appleID that your FaceTime is connected to.

As mentioned in other communication, school holidays have been brought forward. Holidays will now begin from Monday 30 March to Tuesday 14 April inclusive (a reminder that the Tuesday after Easter Monday is always a closed day for schools). During the school holidays please check in with the Tawhai website for ideas to support your children.

This is a learning experience for us all, I am happy to answer any questions about anything digital. After the holidays I will send you all a timetable and will have a more detailed plan that you can use at home if you wish too.

I have sent home a learning pack home with each child. School will be open today and tomorrow until 3pm if you have not already picked up your child’s Learning Pack. It is up to you how many set activities you complete with your child, there is no pressure to complete set tasks. Please upload a picture of anything you are doing with your child.

Please find attached some of the links we love sharing together in Nga Kukari, they may give some welcome relief to your children over the next few weeks.

Below are a list of different study platforms you may choose from. I know there are many to choose from, but please have a play around and see what works best for you and your child. You may then stick to one platform for both maths and literacy or use seperate ones. Do not feel like you have to go on all three.

Note: Mathletics and StuddyLadder are free and will still be able to get access once school is back.

I have signed children up for the very good Study Ladder website and the list of their user names and passwords can be found on through my posting on Educa.

I have also subscribed to a free 30 day teacher trial for IXL maths and english  website. It is an Immersive, adaptive learning website which also have excellent maths activities. Usernames and passwords are in the attached pdf file if you so wish to use this additional maths website. This is on Educa.

Children have their Mathletics details in their Homework and can also be found on the posting on Educa.

As always, please let me know if there is anything you need.

Take care, Aroha nui,
