Kia ora Room 1 whānau,
What a bizarre time we are in! Please take the rest of this week to help your child adjust to these changing circumstances. I think the main priority this week is to spend time together as a family and look after each other’s emotional wellbeing.
Following the announcement made by the Government yesterday, the school holidays have been brought forward and will now be from MONDAY 30th MARCH to TUESDAY 14th APRIL (inclusive). As of WEDNESDAY 15th APRIL Tawhai School will be open for distance learning but will not be physically open for staff or students to work at school.
I will be adding some learning tasks to Google Classroom in the coming days and have updated your child’s login document (sent out via their google account last week) if you would like some work for your child over the next few days. There are also some great links to digital resources available on the school website (under the heading – Supporting learning at home Updated 23 March 2020). Please note that these are optional learning tasks for this week.
Over the coming days I will be setting up a structured programme to support learning at home (which will take effect from Wednesday 15th April). In the meantime, I have sent everyone an email with your child’s google account login details and a couple of questions regarding your / their digital availability and contacting preferences. It would be greatly appreciated if you could send a return email with your responses over the next few days (thank you very much to those who have already done so).
Please don’t hesitate to email me if you have any questions, issues or need support. My email address is firstname.lastname@example.org. We are most definitely in unprecedented times at the moment and we need to do everything we can to support each other.
Take care everyone!
