Students in Karearea Toru and Wha have been learning about the Maori legend of Ranganui and Papatuanuku and how the earth and sky were separated. Students have been learning and analysing the story and have had a chance to look at some of the artwork that has been done by other Maori artists. After thinking and planning their artwork and the media in which they would like to create this artwork, students are now able to create and bring that artwork to life. Some students have chosen, paper-based media, some clay, and others have chosen to carve theirs out of wood. Take a look!
