Kereru Hub Assembly

8th September 2023

Malo e lelei’

The Kereru Hub celebrated their fortnightly assembly in the hall this morning after morning tea.

After singing the National Anthem, it was straight onto the presentation of the certificates. As Mrs Poole wasn’t available, Miss Kenworthy was honoured to hand out the Principal Awards, Matua Jake did the honours with the ākonga awards. All 3 kaiako presented the recently implemented Values certificates, this particular one was for consistently showing the value of integrity.

Ka pai to all who received awards!

Our Kereru Hub love to share their wonderful work and this week was no exception! Ruma Rima showed their wonderful turtle artwork celebrating Tongan Language Week and we got to listen to some great poetry reading too! Emily had some great news to share about the poem she had composed called Fluffy. She had entered a poetry competition at the Koraunui/ Stokes Valley Hub, and it had been shortlisted. Ka pai Emily!

Ruma Toru had turtle artwork to share too! The finished artwork will be photographed and added to the Tongan Language Week album.

We had several poems from Ruma Whā as well.

We had 3 lucky ākonga drawn out of the red star box as well as 3 who were owed prizes!

Miss Kenworthy declared Ruma Whā to be the best class of the assembly!
