Kopara Assembly this Afternoon

1st November 2023

Kia ora e te whānau,
Our wonderful Kopara Hub came together this afternoon in Room 12 for their fortnightly assembly on an absolutely beautiful but very hot day!
After singing and signing the National Anthem, Mrs Lynley Poole presented the Student awards. Ka pai to the worthy recipients!
Unfortunately Tumuaki Mrs Poole could not attend to present the Principal awards but as she so looks forward to handing them out herself, Fortunately she was able to go around with them the next day. See photos at the end of the album below!
Everyone sang along beautifully to the Justin Tumberlake and Anna kendrick version of the song, True colours!
This term, the inquiry focus has been on keeping ourselves safe. The tamariki have already had a visit from Jamie Gray about fire safety, they have also been learning about road safety and driveway safety. In due course they will be learning about scooter and water safety. This afternoon the tamariki watched a video clip about sun safety (especially as today was such a hot day!) and how we can protect ourselves from the sun’s UV rays, wearing wide brimmed sun hats and protective clothing, using a good spf rated sunscreen, sitting in the shade wherever possible, and staying hydrated.
Room 6 was declared the best class of the assembly and Sophie and Archie were the lucky ākonga drawn out of the kete to receive a prize!
