A Farewell to Some Very Special Tamariki!

24th November 2023

Kia ora e te whānau,

Today we had to say a very sad farewell to Kear, Logan, and Alice-Rae as they are leaving Tawahi Kura and heading off to Christchurch! They had a lovely last day ‘chilling’ with their friends and classmates.

At the Ngahere Hub assembly this morning, they were formally farewelled and given gifts, which included books from the kura, and cards (Logan received his book later in his classroom from Matua Jake and Alice-Rae in the Horoeka Assembly in the afternoon) All those assembled sang the Tawhai Kura waiata and we had an especially poignant and heartfelt haka which brought the tears to more than one or two eyes!

We will miss you very much but we wish you and the rest of your whānau all the very best as you settled into your new life and schools down in Christchurch.

Here are a few photos, most have been ones taken during today!
