A Marvellous Time at Kaitoke

15th October 2023

Kia ora e te whānau,
Our intrepid campers arrived safely back to Tawhai Kura on time on Friday! The tamariki looked a little tired after their fantastic and exciting few days at Kaitoke and will look forward to a relatively quiet weekend to recharge their batteries!
There were a good range of activities, the Giant Swing, flying fox, raft building, air rifle shooting, archery, kayaking, rock climbing, crate stacking, and orienteering. Two teams to an activity! The Tamariki did so well!
A HUGE thank you to the wonderful kaiako; Janette Page (In Charge of Camp or Camp Mother!), Karen Johnstone, Chelsea Sullivan, and Cleo Syph who worked so hard to make the camp an enjoyable experience for our Year 5 & 6 ākonga.
Camp would not have been possible without the very valuable input, mahi, and enthusiasm of the parent helpers, listed as follows:
Chris Chad
Nik Dowman
Cat Gardiner
Richard Gaskin
Jake Whiteman
Tagi Tofilau
Joleen Bridgen
Cassandra Taylor
Rachel Dennison
Natalie Hall
Vanda Gilbert
Harna Mackie

You were all absolutely amazing! Our Kaiako and Tamariki really appreciated you being there for them and having a wonderful time yourselves!
Below is a huge selection of albums. The resident kaiwhakaahua spent all day Wednesday at camp so tried to cover a range of activities, mealtimes, free time etc.
Chelsea Sullivan also took a raft of photos during her time there. There is also an album of photos taken by; Joleen Bridgen, Harna Mackie, Cassandra Taylor, Rachael Dennison, Janette Page, and Karen Johnston.
