Today the Mayor of Lower Hutt Campbell Barry dropped into our Kura to talk to our wonderful Tu Rangatira.

Tuesday 21st November was the big day for our 25 ākonga as they represented not only their kura but the Northern/Central Zone in the Interzone Athletics at Hutt Rec! They were fortunate in the weather being nice and mild as they took part in their chosen event.

Our wonderful Kapa Haka Group had a marvellous opportunity to perform again at the annual Upper Hutt Cultural Festival this year! They did themselves, their whānau, and their kura very proud!

It is with great pleasure that we introduce you to our first kākahu taonga that has been blessed and gifted to Tawhai School by Jaydy Marsh and the whatu group. A BIG thank you to Matua Mike for blessing the Kākahu.

Our Year 5 & 6 ākonga had a wonderful time at Kaitoke Camp this year. There were a good range of activities, the Giant Swing, flying fox, raft building, air rifle shooting, archery, kayaking, rock climbing, crate stacking, and orienteering. Two teams to an activity! The Tamariki did so well!

We were very fortunate that the weather was very much in our favour this morning, so this term’s Mihi Whakatau to welcome our newest ākonga and their whānau to Tawhai Kura took place under the Whakaruruhau Tu Rangatira Aysha and Lucy welcomed the new whānau as they walked to the stage and were shown to their seats.
