Arts Curriculum Update
Term 1 offered the opportunity for all students to take part in the Footsteps dance programme. We were lucky to have Veronica, back again this year, teaching us a number of exciting new dances and dance styles.
The programme teaches students the different elements of dance, linking into the Arts curriculum, as well as giving them the chance to explore some of their own basic choreography.
It was great to see the enthusiasm and hear the laughter as everyone worked hard to master the different moves and dances.
We look forward to enjoying the programme again next year.
Term 2
This term we are preparing for the Artsplash choir performance that takes place at the Michael Fowler Centre in Wellington in term 3. This is an opportunity for students who enjoy singing to perform in front of an audience as part of a large group. About 40 students between yr 3-6 are currently practising once a week to learn the songs. This will carry on into next term, culminating in the performance during week 7.
